Where will my session take place?
Sacred Womb Journey sessions and Full-Body Goddess Massages take place inside of Sensorric at 1923 16th St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33704. Sensorric is a peaceful and healing space that provides a beautiful environment for deep relaxation and transformation. Thai massage, as well as stand-alone private yoga sessions, may take place in the comfort of your home if you prefer. Depending on the modality, you will lie on a massage table or Thai mat or be seated on an ergonomic massage chair.
*For travel distances beyond 15 miles (up to 35 miles) from my location in St. Pete, FL, a sliding-scale travel fee is applied to the session rate.
Do I need to undress for my massage?
This depends on the modality. For Thai massage and Sacred Womb Journey sessions, I encourage you to wear loose, comfortable clothing, as you’ll remain fully clothed throughout the session. During Maya Abdominal Massage, I work directly on the skin of your abdomen, so I ask you to choose clothing that allows easy access to this area. However, if you feel uncomfortable for any reason, I can easily work without direct contact on your skin. For the Full-Body Goddess Massage, you are welcome to undress to your comfort level and I will ensure you remain appropriately draped throughout your massage.
What parts of my body will be massaged?
A typical full-body session may include work on your back, shoulders, neck, head, face, chest, arms, hands, abdomen, hips, legs, and feet. You may choose to also receive therapeutic breast massage, as offered in the Full-Body Goddess Massage. Before we begin, I’ll check in with you to see if there are any areas you’d prefer I avoid. You can always adjust or change your preferences at any time during the session.
What will the massage or bodywork feel like?
Depending on your needs, a massage can feel deeply relaxing or amazingly energizing. Some techniques involve what I call consensual therapeutic intensity, but most just feel good! The pressure and techniques are always tailored to what feels best for you, and I encourage open communication to ensure that you and your body are fully honored throughout the session. Massage and bodywork are most effective when your body feels safe, and you should never feel pressured to receive any kind of touch you are not okay with.
What should I do during the massage or bodywork session?
Prior to your massage, feel free to ask me any questions about the technique or the upcoming session. During the massage, make yourself comfortable. I will either gently move you or tell you what is needed throughout the session (such as lifting your arm). Many people close their eyes and completely relax, communicating if they need more or less pressure or anything else relevant to the session. You never have to close your eyes, talk or not talk, or receive something you do not want. You are always welcome to share throughout your experience. This is your time to receive.
What is Maya Abdominal Massage?
The belly is the sacred home of your womb, along with all of your abdominal and pelvic organs. Reconnecting with and tending to this soft, precious space is essential for healing the core itself, as well as integrating the entire body. As in any area of your body, the tissues of the abdomen (both front and back), can hold stress, tension, and restriction, which contribute to disharmony in the system.
The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage®, also known as Tul'ix Therapy, bring together bodywork, traditional wellness practices, herbal knowledge, and spiritual healing to restore structural integrity, blood flow, lymphatic flow, and life-force energy in the abdominal organs. On the level of the body, Maya Abdominal Massage is supportive for many reproductive, gynecological, and digestive imbalances, including fertility struggles, menstrual conditions, chronic gynecological issues, chronic GI issues, and much more. Beyond physical benefits, Maya Abdominal Massage supports emotional healing by helping women reconnect to their womb space, integrate unprocessed experiences, and tune in to the magic of their bodies.
